The Careers and Employability Service delivers multiple careers events throughout the academic year. We run careers and jobs fairs, employability workshops and mock interviews, invite industry speakers to campus and support students through regular drop-in sessions.
Going to a ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Career Event is a great way to get a clearer idea of the options available to you following your studies with a wide selection of fairs, seminars and presentations taking place throughout the academic year.
ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú provides annual Online Volunteering and Placement Fairs which are open to all students. Students on courses that contain a mandatory work placement component are particularly encouraged to attend.
The aim of Volunteering and Placements Fairs is to facilitate direct communication between students and employers. They are an opportunity for employers to raise awareness of their brand, the work they do and the opportunities they have available; they are and opportunity for students to interact with employers one-to-one without having to go through the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Placements Team. All employers who attend these events have work opportunities available, and are targeting ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú students specifically.Â
If you want to speak to employers and explore your career options, consider attending one of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’ Annual Careers Fairs. These fairs vary in scope, from broader general careers fairs to industry-specific events.
We regularly invite local and national employers to our campuses to provide sessions for our students. These come in many forms, from general introductory presentations about their company, industry, or business practices — to practical sessions in which employers teach students key skills from how to applying for a job in the industry to how to navigate interviews or assessment centres, and how to deliver elevator pitches.
Our Careers Consultants frequently run in-class workshops on essential careers and employability skills. They deliver sessions on CV building, interview preparation, applying for jobs, building your LinkedIn network, and planning your career.
All ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú students are invited to attend one of our regular careers support drop-in sessions. These sessions allow students to come and speak to the team in person, book appointments and raise any issues they have without needing to book an earlier appointment.
